What is dry body brushing and why you should do it!

If your like me, morning routines are usually hectic.  However the extra 5 minutes it takes to dry body brush is well worth the investment!

Fast, effective, and enormous health benefits!

Our skin in our largest organ.  It plays a major role in detoxification and so it's important we take care of it.  (No this doesn't mean buying $90 creams that promise to make you look 10 years younger).  In fact, something as simple as dry body brushing can leave your skin silky, softer and more radiant!  Dry skin brushing has been practiced for hundreds of years in Japan and Greece, and is now beginning to gain popularity here.  The good news is that you don’t need to pay a hefty high-end spa price in order to get the benefits of dry skin brushing.

I personally like to do it first thing in the morning before I shower or at night before showering.  You can do it twice a day if you would like, but I find once a day is plenty.  Ever since I started adding this to my routine my skin is glowing and super smooth, I have even had people ask me, "what I do to get my skin to look the way it does".  Well here is my secret (one of them at least) .

Benefits of dry body brushing:

1. Cellulite be gone!  Increased circulation to the skin may reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Here are some guidelines to follow:

-Use  a natural bristle brush (nothing made of nylon or synthetic materials)

-Start on dry skin before bathing

-Begin at the ankles

-Work in small gentle circular motion moving upward toward the heart (this is the direction lymphatic fluid flows in your body)
-Be easy don't press hard on the brush

-Never brush over sun burnt, or inflamed skin

-Take a nice shower to remove any impurities and dead skin cells

-Follow it up my lathering yourself in a natural oil (I like coconut and jojoba oil mixed with some lavender before bed)

-Wash brush to remove any dead skin cells

Don't forget about your face!  I personally wouldn't recommend using the same brush on your face, but this one is fantastic!
